I wish I had a pound for every time I have heard this - I would have £693.37!!
The truth is that up to 10 years ago that would have been a very valid comment. We all had the yellow pages delivered and it was the place that many people looked for plumbers, electricians, carpenters etc.
But that has all changed. Something happens in the home/workplace and you need a tradesman what do you do? At the very least you go to the internet and search "Plumbers in ....". So do all your potential customers!
That is why ALL tradespeople (in fact all businesses) should have a website.
There are lots of self help places (Wix, GoDaddy etc) out there but how many times have you turned up after someone has had a go themselves and it has taken 3 times as long to fix.
My advice is to use a good reputable firm to do it for you. Tell them what you want and have them create it for you whilst you spend your time doing what you do best.
It doesn't have to be anything complicated but must include what you do, where you do it and most importantly how to contact you.
Check out some local providers first as its often easier for them to understand your local area and what will best appeal to your potential customers.
Finally keep it up to date. There is nothing worse than seeing a website with out of date information and pictures.
